ERP
The ledger stays the ledger.
SAP, NetSuite, Dynamics, and Odoo already know the customer, the order, and the invoice. HubSpot should receive the slice sales and service need, and send back only what those teams are allowed to change.
| Object | Stays in the ERP | HubSpot may hold |
|---|---|---|
| Company | Legal name, account number, bill-to | Owner, lifecycle, the notes a rep will read |
| Order | Lines, status, amount, ship-to | The deal it closed, and a link back |
| Invoice | Tax, terms, the payment | Paid, open, or overdue. Not the lines. |
| Contact | The billing contact on the account | The buyer the rep actually talks to |
| Product | SKU, cost, the catalog | The name a seller will say out loud |
If both sides can edit the same email, you will get two contacts. Pick a key and a winner before the first sync.
A connector that writes the legal name from HubSpot will undo the ledger.
Direction
The rep’s notes do not belong in the ERP. The order does not belong as five deals.
