Ecommerce
An order is not a new person.
Shopify, WooCommerce, and Magento already have the customer. The sync should attach the order to the contact HubSpot already has, then create one only when the key is new.
| Record | Match on | Do not |
|---|---|---|
| Customer | Email, then the shop’s customer id | Create a contact on every order |
| Guest checkout | The email on that order | Merge it into an account you cannot prove |
| Order | Order id, one record | Turn a cart into five deals |
| Product | SKU | Copy the whole catalog into properties |
A sync that creates a contact on every order will fill the portal with the same buyer under three emails. Read the key before you widen it.
One order, one record
A deal or a custom object. Line items stay with the order. The rep sees the total and the status, not a pile of products pretending to be pipeline.
The shop wins the catalog
Price and stock change in the shop. HubSpot needs the name and the SKU the seller will say.
Status you named
Paid, fulfilled, refunded. If a status is missing from the map, the order vanishes and nobody notices until finance asks.
